We had a quick trip to Rock Springs to see the kid's Primary Program - it was great! So the kids took a minute to hit the ice. What a hoot! There are some real advantages to living at "the rock" - they have an amazing Rec Center - complete with the usual B-Ball court, Racket Ball court, swimming pools, exercise equipment, and an amazing Ice Rink. It's fun to see the kids learning new things like skating! It was worth braving the wind, cold, and snow!

Spooktacular!!!
There's not a man in the land that likes Halloween better than Ed! Our house is the hit of the town! He makes the kids cry and the teenagers scream - but they keep coming back for more! He's already thinking of next year!!!
Kaitlyn-1st Blood.
When did it happen? When did our sweet, beautiful daughter turn into a cold-blooded deer slayer? A couple of years ago, Ed signed her up for hunter's safety class and bought her a gun. It's been down-hill from there - or should I say up hill!
All this time I thought boys liked Prom Queens and Cheerleaders. Little did I know that what they really like is girls who drive 4-wheel drives and shoot deer! Every since she shot this deer the boys are swarming like bees to the hive! Ed - you've created a monster!
At the last hour on the last day, she took the big buck down at our own farm! One shot, and that's all she wrote.
Hunting license - $35
Gas and treats - $100
Guns and ammo - $700
Processing the meat into jerky and various treats - $$$$$
Look on Ed's face - "PRICELESS!!!"

Homecoming 2010
Our princess had a date with Lance Sitterud for homecoming. First a group of them went down on the desert and shot guns and messed around for the afternoon - only in Emery County!!!

Then, thanks to the tremendous talents of Lance's mom - Gina - they got all dressed up as Robin Hood and Maid Marion and went to the dance. They looked amazing!!! Thank's Gina! It was a date fit for a queen!!!

Dare to be scared......
Shoulda Been a Cowboy......
After a long hot summer of work, work, and more work, Kaitlyn finally saddled up and headed out. She loves her horse and having Apryl and the kids here gave Ed extra incentive to open the corral and let 'em lose!
When Apryl was a girl, she LOVED to ride the horses. The weather was perfect today - so they saddled up and away they went. This was the first time for the grand kids to be on the horses - Abby was a little timid - but it was a thrill for them none the less.
After a great afternoon of riding, the horses became rather uncooperative. You see our horses are pampered and spoiled - they have all the feed they can eat and live a life of "horse luxury". So as soon as the girls even got within a block of the house, there was no stopping them as they headed to the coral. Flicka took time to say "thanks for the ride" to Kaitlyn. It's pure love for a girl and her horse.

Earth's Bounty...
What a happy birthday I had - first I get a wonderful gift from my daughter- a "Bountiful Basket". This was my first time and I was both thrilled and astonished! Food - glorious food!!!! It's a program where you order a basket and they deliver the most beautiful fruits, vegetables, and bread youhave ever seen. We'll be eatin' good in the neighborhood tonight!

Then to top it off, Ed, being the romantic guy that he is, got me a brand new (at least new to us) great big beautiful rock! I was delighted!! Now when I was in high-school the guys (Jed, Kerry, and Tim) called all of the ugly girls "rock eaters". If they could see me now I would really be the butt of their jokes - for I have turned into the ultimate "rock eater". I love rocks of every kind in the landscape and I'm sure we'll be getting many more. God has blessed us with an abundance of rocks here in Emery County so we will make the best of them. They are wonderful - they don't get mad, make a mess, or grow weeds. They just stay where you put them and look good!(If only we could teach husbands to do the same!!!)
