4th of July fun!

We did our annual watch the parade and gather candy at the Huntington Heritage Days 4th of July Parade. Apryl and the kids were on vacation this year in Washington, so it was just me and the boys. Jordan and Landon are champs at diving for the treats thrown out from the various floats. And that baby – does he look like his daddy or what!!! Little Jayden is just as white as his grandma!

Our latest toy.

Being the perfect wife as I am, I bought my husband the perfect gift for his birthday – a new (well new to us) skid steer loader – John Deere, of course. It’s now the pride and joy of the fleet. Considering how much rust is on the rest of the equipment, it’s a real gem! Then to follow-up for Father’s Day, I bought him forks to put on it. Am I the perfect wife or what!

Ed is the envy of the neighborhood. Of course, there was a motive behind my madness – I have great plans for our yard and we need it to move dirt, rocks, trees, and various other projects I have in mind. I might be crazy – but I’m crazy like a fox! Everyone in the family has gotten in the act and takes a turn at driving it. I think Apryl comes mostly for the opportunity to ride the thing. :) What we don’t do for fun around here!

All about Kaitlyn.

Kaitlyn, Kaitlyn, Kaitlyn…..

Our lives these days revolve around Kaitlyn – otherwise known as the “kaitorator”. Of course, we wouldn’t have it any other way. She is now 16 and driving – AHHHHHH!!!!! Actually, she is a very good driver. This summer she is playing softball, working for us on the farm and at the house, hangin’ with friends, and constantly updating her iPod. She’s a remarkable girl that keeps up busy and brings life to our otherwise dull house.

She is trying hard to be the “farmer’s daughter” this year and loves everything outside. (She’s not much for housework!) All things considered, we’re pretty lucky to have her and would like to keep her all too ourselves. Unfortunately, we have to share her – and sometimes with boys!!!!

Our fabulous vacation.

We were able to make it up to beautiful Yellowstone National Park last fall. We pulled the camper, met Anthony & Apryl in Rock Springs, and continued on for a wonderful weekend.

The timing was just right. Cool temperatures, diminished crowds and animals galore!

The sites were breathtaking!

The picture opportunities were endless.

I ventured up a hill to get within a few yards of this elk. What an amazing site to get so close!

It was a great getaway & even Kaitlyn had a great time.

We can't wait to go again someday!

Up on the roof top.

We've been busy with many projects. Some at the new house & some at the old. We recently completed the huge task of re-roofing at the old house. Ed & Jud put in countless hours as well as myself, Kaitlyn (believe it or not) and even Apryl & the grand kids. It was a joint effort & I'm proud of the outcome!

I have one hardworking son! We couldn't have completed this project without him. I am so grateful for his hard work.

I also have the hardest working grand kids in the county. They always pitch in to help out Grandpa & Grandma.

After a long day of slaving away for us, Jud does like to eat and relax a little with his buddy Ing. Nothing like some milk and cookies before bed! It’s always good to have the baby boy come home for the weekend.

We are glad to be finished with such a huge task & ready to move on to the next summer project!

Let's get it started!

I'm getting the hang of this whole thing & getting accustomed to the blogging world. Stay tuned for the many adventures of the Thomson family!
